Rev. Dr. Akiiki Daisy Kabagarama

Country of Origin: Uganda

Founder, Past President, Board Member, Chairperson of the Education, Outreach Committees and Member of the Strategic Planning Committee: Wichita African Union (WAU)  


Akiiki Daisy Kabagarama was born and raised in Uganda. She graduated with Honors from Makerere University Kampala, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Administration. She migrated to the United States, graduated from Iowa State University with a Master of Community and Regional Planning, followed by a Doctorate in Sociology. From Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., she earned a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theological Studies. 

Rev. Dr. Kabagarama has served as Pastor at four Churches and Campus Pastor at Wichita State University, Professor at several Colleges/Universities, including Wichita State University where she chaired the Department of Ethnic Studies for two years. At McPherson College, she served as Chairperson of the Sociology Department for five years. She has also served as a Television, Radio and Podcast host.

Author of fifteen books, Rev. Dr. Kabagarama’s Academic and Community Service Awards include: “Promotion of International Friendship and Understanding” by Iowa State University; “Influential Civic and Social Standing in the Wichita Community” by the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. and “The Diedra Kriewald Award in Effective Teaching” by Wesley Theological Seminary.
